Allen is the author of The
Survival Files: The Most Convincing Evidence Yet Compiled for
the Survival of Your Soul, and several other books on diverse
topics.*
He has been an avid student
of psychic and spiritual phenomena since reading Harold Sherman's
How To Make ESP Work For You, while in college. (Being a
secular-materialist at the time, he bought the book with every intention
of making fun of it, but became convinced that the subject was worth
closer examination.) He is a member of the Society for Psychical
Research and the Academy of Spirituality and Paranormal Studies.
Allen received his B.S. from
the Journalism School at the University of Maryland, and worked
as a writer, editor, and manager for various private and federal
offices over three decades. Since his retirement, he has been keeping
"busier than ever" with his writing, websites, and a greeting- and
note-card company called FunOccasions.com.
Allen was born in Washington,
DC, on 01-23-45 (a date with which he is overly impressed). He and
his wife, Donna (and their Chocolate Lab, Dasher), currently divide
their time between their home in Pennsylvania and cabin in West
Virginia.
